Everyone Poops

This post is inspired by none other than Roxey. Being a school teacher, I love children's books and have come across some amazing ones and others that I have found quite humorous and wondered how they were even published. This being one of them that I came across years ago:

Well, now that I have a baby, I am tempted to write a sequel to this. Newborns poop ALL the time! Seriously, just this morning Roxey pooped out of three outfits! If anyone can suggest a miracle stain remover, I will kiss your feet. As it stands right now, I just scrub until I wear away the top layer of fabric. Just kidding!

I do adore Roxey, poop and all! That's just how life is some days are good, others just stink!

Some days Roxey is an angel .

Here she is offering her first prayer. She did this herself, I did not manipulate her.

Other days she is a rebel.

Look at that! We gave her a binky to soothe her-out. We put a hat on to keep her warm-off. We swaddled her to make her feel secure-one arm escaped.

She is as precious as can be and my favorite thing so far is to watch she and her daddy together. Jordan is the best and most involved father!

My next post will hopefully have professional pictures of her. We have had to postpone them three times now. One because of her growth spurt throwing her schedule off, two because she had horrible cradle cap, and three because she had horrendous eye goobers. They are now scheduled for Tuesday, so fingers crossed because by then the photos can mark that she is one month old! Yikes! Maybe then she will be in cuter outfits because as of right now, I strictly do onesies because of the before mentioned pooping problem. Other than that, she is a pure delight! We love you Roxey!

Introducing Baby Roxey!

Much to our surprise Roxanne came 12 days early on January 6, 2010.

(Keep in mind, she has been squished in my belly for the past 9 months, she gets cuter!)

Everyone loves her hair, her hats are off her head more than they are on due to people taking a peek at her luscious locks.

Everyone says that she looks like Jordan ( I happily agree), but I think she acts like me. That is based on the one thing that she can do right now and that is sleep. If not swaddled, she loves to put her hands near her face and that is how I sleep. In fact in one of our ultra sounds, she had her fist nestled under her chin. It was the cutest thing.

She weighed 6 pounds 10 ounces and if you know me well enough, I enjoy puns and coincidences, so the fact that she was born on 1/6/10, look at those numbers. Very cool!

As of January 1st, the company that Jordan works for took away Paternity leave and to top it off over the holidays, they made them use up their PTO days. Needless to say, we love Jordan's boss because with Roxanne being born on a Wednesday, he told Jord he better not see the whites of his eyes until Monday and mums the word to the higher ups. The flowers behind Jord were sent by his work. Gorgeous!

Then it was the big day, being able to bring her home and begin our lives as a family minus all the nurses. We got her all gussied up in this cute outfit and then made the worst attempt at putting her in the car seat for our long trek home from the Riverton Hospital. It was so worth going all the way out there to deliver her because I had the best birthing experience thanks to my doctor and my amazing husband.

Finally, here are the top ten reasons why we think we have the best baby:

10-She knew to come a little early so that I could have 8 1/2 weeks of maternity leave as opposed to only 6.

9-We got to the hospital around 4:30, received the blessed epidural promptly and then at 10:00 I only had to push for 1 hour before she came out!

8-Once she was out, she made the faintest peep to let us know that she was alive and well.

7-When they placed her on me, right away she looked at me with her big eyes and my heart just melted.

6-While in the hospital she did not pass the Bilirubin test, but our first night home she finally decided to eat well every two hours and was able to pass the test the following day.

5-Though she caused me to gain well over 30 pounds, due to her hearty appetite I have lost half of it in one week.

4-During Tummy Time with dad, she has already moved her head from one side to the next and scooted the length of the blanket he put her on.

3-She is a very sound sleeper and just the other night slept for a length of 4 1/2 hours.

2-She has the most gorgeous hair that as I am feeding her I think about what on earth I am going to do with it, since I can't even do my own hair!

1-Well, the number 1 reason why she is best baby is because she is ours and we will always be biased. We love you baby Roxey!
